The Clearwater Threshers and Brevard County Manatees were mired in a pitcher's duel to begin the first game of their double header. That is until the fourth inning when the Manatees offense came to life pounding the Threshers' starter Tyler Cloyd for five runs on five hits and a walk it the inning to jump out to a 5-0 lead.
The struggling Threshers offense, who was hitless through four innings, would need to find a way to get in gear if the team had any hope of rallying.
Unfortunately the team would only manage two hits in the game, and fell in the first game of the night 5-0.
The SCHMIDT LIST player of the game award would go unclaimed in game 1.

In the second game of the night the Manatees would remove the suspense from the game early by jumping out to 3-0 first inning lead, and then holding on to that margin without much threat from the Threshers offense.
The Threshers defense did not want to go unnoticed in the game though, so they helped contribute to the effort with three fifth inning errors that allowed the Manatees to pad their lead with eight (yes, 8) more runs to extend their lead to a nice 11-0 margin and all but secured the win after five innings of play.
Of course you know they always say, it ain't over until the fat lady sings, and so the Threshers would be forced to suffer through another inning-and-a-half of play until finally losing after another 6 1/2 inning affair.
The SCHMIDT LIST player of the game award would go unclaimed once again in game 1.
