The Clearwater Threshers opened a four game series with the Sarasota Reds on Saturday night looking to get back on the winning track but fell in twelve heartbreaking innings by a score of 4-3. Starting pitcher Drew Naylor threw seven good innings, but a defensive miscue by the usually sure handed short stop Freddy Galvis in the fifth inning that tied the score a 2-2 meant he would leave the game with the score knotted at two runs each. Carlos Manasterios, and Michael Schwimer kept the team in the game with some terrific work from the bullpen, butthe offense could not capitalize on some early scoring opportunities. In the end Chris Kissock was tagged with a loss in the twelfth frame giving the team their third consecutive loss despite a valiant effort. Michael Schwimer grabbed the SCHMIDT LIST player of the game award.
