The Clearwater Threshers starter Drew Naylor has been on fire over his last several starts, but on Sunday he seemed to have lost touch with everything that had gotten him through those last few starts. (Or he just had too much fun on Saturday night, and had a wicked hangover; we'll never know.) Whatever the case Naylor seemed to lack any semblance of control lasting just two innings in the game, walking five batters fanning none, and giving up five runs on five hits. Unfortunately whatever it was that ailed Naylor also had a grip on Dan Brauer who came on in relief of him in the third inning. (Suddenly the hangover theory seems a bit mor plausible?) Brauer would last only 1.2 innings giving up five more runs on three more hits, and three walks giving the Cubs a commanding 10-0 lead that the Threshers just had no hope of overcoming. the SCHMIDT LIST player of the game award.
