The Clearwater Threshers snatched another victory on Tuesday night with an eighth inning rally to top the Palm Beach Cardinals 3-1. WIth the win the team moved back to .500 with a record of 27-27 still in second place in the FSL Northern Division.
Yohan Flande took the hill, and did his usual job dominating the Palm Beach Cardinals and holding them to just one run on five hits with six Ks and just one walk. Unfortunately his offense got just one run through those seven innings and he would leave the game with a no-decision.
The Threshers rallied in the eighth inning to put up two runs, but it was not pretty. The Cardinals had a chance to end the inning, but a collision between three players in foul territory foiled their attempts to snag a Tim Kennelly pop up, and he would make them pay. Kennelly then crushed a two-rbi shot to make the game 3-1 and secure the win.
In other news: The official Clearwater Threshers site has now gone corporate. It has been officially taken over by Minor League Baseball, and will no longer offer much in the way of local news. That leaves THRESHERS NATION as your only real source for Clearwater Threshers news. Help spread the word and send your friends our way.
Also, if you are already on FACEBOOK you should request to make friends with our page there. (If you are not a FACEBOOK user you should become one.) Search for "Clearwater Threshers" and you will find our site and a Threshers group site. Both contain terrific photos we take every game. We (actually my wife Monica) take a ton of great photos each night, and there are pictures organized in folders by player, so you are sure to find pictures of your favorite players there.
Yohan Flande & Tim Kennelly earned the SCHMIDT LIST player of the game awards. (I know I'm behind on updating that page, but I'll get it done tomorrow night since Wednesday is a day game.)
