Threshers Held to Three Hits by Ft. Myers

The Clearwater Threshers and Ft. Myers Miracle faced off in a pitchers dual on Friday, but it was the Miracle who would get the edge in the end.
Julian Sampson took the hill for the Threshers and did the best he could to keep his team in the game giving up three runs on six hits. Unfortunately the Miracle pitcher had an even better night holding the Threshers to just two-runs on three hits. Matt Rizzotti's two-run HR in the fourth waould be the only time the Threshers made any mark on the scoreboard all night, and was the team's first hit in the entire game. At the time that would put the Threshers on top of the highly contested game, but in the end the Miracle would get the edge adding a run in the bottom of the inning to tie the game, and another in the sixth for the win.
Both Manny Ayala and Jason Mackintosh would throw 1.1 innings of hitless relief, but the offense could never get on track against some tough Miracle pitching. These two teams face off for one more game on Saturday night with the Threshers looking to even the series at two games each before returning home on Sunday.
