Michael Schwimer closed out the game with some nice pitching.
After averaging nearly seven runs per game to start the season, the Threshers offense has suddenly fallen quiet as the team has picked up just six runs in the last four games combined.
Julian Sampson got his second start of the year tonight, and looked more comfortable on the hill than in his first effort. Unfortunately with only one run's worth of support he needed to be perfect, and he could not live up to that expectation.
Sampson went five innings giving up two runs on seven hist walking just one and fanning two. Chris Kissock had two innings of relief giving up on run on one hit with two Ks and no walks, and then Michael Schwimer had two nice innings of work to close things out. His line included no runs, no hits, four hitter puched out, and a walk.
Michael Schwimer earns the SCHMIDT LIST player of the game award for relief effort.
