Threshers Fall to the Yankees

R.I.P. Mr. 3000

The Threshers fell tonight to the Tampa Yankees in a tough loss. Darren BYrd took the hill for the team coming off of an incredible string of terrific pitching, but with all things once in a while another team just gets the best of you, and tonight was that night for Byrd.

After five solid innings things unraveled for the Threshers in the sixth inning when the Yankees picked up 4 runs to go up 6-1, after a tight 2-1 game. That was more than the Threshers offense could overcome, and unfortuantely the team picked up another in the loss column.

In very sad news tonight comedian Bernie Mac was taken from our world today. Mac died Saturday morning of complications from pneumonia in a Chicago-area hospital, his publicist, Danica Smith, said in a statement from Los Angeles.

Mac had become America's favorite TV dad in his show the Bernie Mac show and he will be missed.
