SCHMIDT LIST PLAYER-OF-THE-DAY

The Clearwater Threshers fell to the Dunedin Bluejays in both halves of a double header on Monday night.

In the first game Darren Byrd took the hill for the team and gave another solid effort. Darren surrendered just one run in the game, but the team's offense could not support him as the Threshers fell 1-0 in the game on only four hits. One of those four hits was credited to Quintin Berry who extended his hitting streak to 20 games.

In the second game of the double header the team's offense came alive a little bit, but it would be the defense this time that proved to be the Threshers undoing as the team comitted three errors in the game. Miguel Matos got his first start of the year as a Thresher having come up for the day from the GCL, and Quintin Berry picked up another hit in the game to extend his streak to 21 games and raise his average to a season high .280. DON'T FORGET TO VISIT THE AWARDS PAGE AND GET IN YOUR NOMINATIONS FOR THIS YEAR'S AWARDS. We love our boys despite the team's record. They play their hearts out every night, and the minors is not about the record. It is about working hard and learning new things. Help recognize this team for the jobs they have done well this season.
