The Clearwater Threshers fell to the Dunedin Bluejays 6-2 on Sunday afternoon. Tom "Flash" Gordon got a rehab start for the team but was on a very limited pitch count he got two outs and then gave up a walk and a two-run homer run before being lifted. Carlos Monasterios replaced Gordon and threw 4.1 innings giving up three runs on five hits and five walks to put the Jays on top 5-0 after four innings.

The Threshers picked up their only two runs of the game in the sixth inning on RBIs from Gus Milner and John Urick, but could never get any closer than that. The Jays added a run in the ninth to make it a 6-2 final.

In the game Quintin Berry picked up one hit to extend his consecutive games hitting streak to 19, and he remains one stolen base shy of setting a new franchise record. He did not have a stolen base attempt on Sunday. Johnny U has two hits including a home run on Sunday, and Fidel Hernandez picked up two hits including a double, and a run scored.

The team faces the Dunedin Bluejays for a double header on Monday before hitting the road for three games at Lakeland, and they then return home on Friday for "Pitch for Pink" breast cancer awareness night.

DON'T FORGET TO VISIT THE AWARDS PAGE AND GET IN YOUR NOMINATIONS FOR THIS YEAR'S AWARDS. We love our boys despite the team's record. They play their hearts out every night, and the minors is not about the record. It is about working hard and learning new things. Help recognize this team for the jobs they have done well this season.
