Dunedin Downs Clearwater in Season Finale

Threshers Return for a Final Homestand on Wednesday

The Clearwater Threshers took on the Dunedin Bluejays for the final time in 2008 on Monday night, and fell 7-3 in the game. The Jays have dominated FSL opponents this second half of the season leading the division by a huge margin.

The Threshers managed to hang tight through five innings, but the Jays overpowered them in the sixth inning grabbing five runs that the Threshers could not get back.

Only four more days remain to get in your votes for this year's Clearwater Threshers awards. If you have not voted already now is the time to get it done. Awards will be presented next Saturday.

According to my wife I should have spent my Sunday afternoon preparing for a huricane, but instead I spent most of the day sewing miniature jerseys to present to the players as their 2008 Clearwater Threshers Awards. You can see a mock up of the awards below.

I can tell by my website statistics that I usually get 250-300 page views per day. However only a very small fraction of the viewers have actually voets in the awards this year. So let this be a fair warning to those of you who have not voted.

I DON'T WANT ANY HATE MAIL AFTER THE AWARDS ARE PRESENTED THAT SO AND SO SHOULD HAVE WON INSTEAD.

If you don't vote, don't bitch when the winners are announced. There are only a few categories with clear front runners so far. Most of the categories are still anyones race to win.
