For the second game in a row the Threshers stranded double digit runners on base while dropping their third of four to the Vero Beach Devil Rays. The team now heads out on a four-game road trip to St. Lucie to face the Mets before returning home on Monday.
Joe Savery had a good outing on the hill for the team giving up three runs on eight hits in six innings while striking out four and walking none, but with very little offensive support it was for naught. Brett Harker pitched a scoreless seventh inning and Matt German came in to pitch the final two frames giving up a run in each allowing the Rays to extend their lead and win 5-2 in the end.

I'm going to be taking a break from writing for the next few days to try to get my enthusiasm going again. I've got company in town all weekend so I will be busy anyway. I know the team has got to be as lackluster as the fans are about their record, in fact I'm sure they are way more disappointed than me. Let's hope they can get something going on this road trip and breing back a little momentum to get the second half going in the right direction.
