The Clearwater Threshers began a four game set with the Daytona Cubs on Sunday by falling 7-5 in the game. The Threshers got down 2-0 early, but rallied to take the lead 4-2 in the fourth inning. That lead would prove short-lived as the Cubs picked up a run in the bottom of the fourth, and then added two more runs in the fifth and two more in the sixth to go up 7-4.
The Threshers picked up one run in the eighth inning to cut the lead to 7-5, and got two men on in the ninth, but the game ended on a deep fly ball from John Urick. The team's manager Razor Shines was ejected in the ninth inning for arguing strike calls, but the team could not rally enough for a win.
