The Clearwater Threshers got a solid pitching effort from their starter Tyson Brumett through five innings with one unearned run on five hits, but the Threshers bats could get nothing going as they were held to just one hit over that same period.
In the sixth inning Brummett surrendered a leadoff home run to up the Bluejays lead to 2-0, and then a single and a walk would end his night. Reymond Cruz came on in relief in the sixth, but after a sac bunt and a triple the Bluejays were up 4-0 with the runs credited to Tyson Brummett.
Reymond Cruz would get the Threshers out of the sixth and through the seventh innings with no more damage, but the bats for the Threshers remained silent as the team garnered no more hits on the night.
Bear Hill would come in for the eighth inning to strike out two Jays and walk one to give the Threshers one last shot in the ninth, but it was just not meant to be for the team.
Unfortunately Gus Milner ended his hitting streak at 18 games on the night by going 0-1 with a walk and a HBP in his final at bat of the night, but that would give him an on-base streak of 19 games.
The SCHMIDT LIST players of the game award went unclaimed on the night.
