Well people...I don't need to say anymore than I have been at the ballpark late tonight celebrating with the boys as they clinched a post season berth by downing the Lakeland Flying Tigers in both halves of a double header.
In the first game Andrew Carpenter added to his record total by picking up a 17th win on the year holding the opposition to one run on one hit as the team cruised to an 11-1 win in the first game.
The second game would not be so easy as the team jumped out to a 4-0 lead only to be tied 4-4 going into the bottom of the fifth.
Matt Thayer proved to be the hero of the night, and of the year, as he singled to plate the game winning and championship winning runs in the bottom of the frame.
The Flying Tigers tried to make a game of it by closing the gap to 5-6 in the last inning, but the Threshers reigned supreme in the end.
