The Threshers and Mets faced off on Tuesday night for the third of four games in their series. The team cruised through the first five innings in a pitchers battle as each team was held scoreless picking up just five combined hits through the first five innings. The Mets were the first to break things open when in the sixth they tagged Threshers' starter Zac Stott for two tuns on three hits to take a 2-0 lead.
In the seventh inning the Threshers managed to tie the game at two runs each when three walks by Matt Thayer , Lou Marson , John Urick resulted in an RBI hit-by-pitch for Hector Made, followed by an RBI single from PJ Antoniato before the inning was over.
The game would remain tied at 2-2 until the ninth inning when Threshers closer Cory Willey became his own worst enemy committing two throwing errors in the inning that allowed a single to become a run and the Threshers went to their last at-bat needing some runs.
Fortunatley for the Threshers the Mets pitching (as in the seventh inning) was once again feeling generous and three hits combined with three walks allowed Hector Made to score the game winning run on a game-winning RBI walk by Matt Thayer .
The Threshers will face the Mets at noon on Wednesday in the final game of their four game set.
Player in yellow denotes the SCHMIDT List player(s) of the game.
