Threshers Offense Rebounds for a Win

Cubs Five Run First Too Much To Overcome

After suffering two losses to the Cubs, the Threshers offense came to play on Friday night and handed it to their opponents while the Threshers pitching shut down the Cubs.

In the third inning the Threshers got it going with a Greg Golson 2-run homer followed by a home run from Jeremy Slayden to go up 3-0. The boys would add three more in the sixth with a double from Nic Jackson an RBI single from John Urick, a single from Jason Donald, and a 2-RBI double from Brad Harman.

Not done yet, the team picked up three more runs in the eighth with a Nic Jackson single, a Jason Donald double a Clay Harris 2-RBI single then a Brad Harman single moving Clay Harris to 3rd who would score on a Mike Spidale ground out before the inning ended.

In the end the team won 9-2 an picked up games on both Sarasota and Tampa who lost tonight. They are now just 3 games out keeping us on the edge of our seats as the first-half of the saeson draws to a close. 10 games remain including a critical three game set with the Sarasota Reds (how many times can I say that) to close out the first-half.

I am baffled as to whom I should give the player of the game. So many guys contributed tonight. Send me your emails to vote on this one. I'll post it tomorrow after I hear from the fans. Use the "Email Jeff" link at the top of this page to vote.
