Threshers Drop Second to the Cubs

Cubs Five Run First Too Much To Overcome

The Daytona Cubs pounced on Threshers starter Zac Stott for five runs in the first inning, and that would prove a deficit too large for the team to overcome. Stott settled down over the next few innings, but gave up two more runs in the fourth and despite the Threshers rallying for five runs they fell 7-5 on the night.

The Threshers bullpen was solid with Jason Wylie getting 6 Ks in 3.0 innings of work, and Will Savage struck out the only three batters he faced in the eighth, but the Threshers fell short as the Cubs Closer sent them down in order in the ninth to seal the victory.
