Thresher and Cubs Rain Delayed, but Underway

Threshers Fall in 10 Innings

Th Threshers and Cubs were delayed 45 minutes by rain but finally got underway on Wednesday night. The game was all about pitching for both of the teams with each team picking up just four hits, but it would be Cubs who made a lead off walk in the tenth inning count as they moved the runner around on a sacrifice and a fielder's choice then brought him home on a long single to center field.

Carlos Carrasco went eight innings for the Threshers and looked solid giving up just one run on three hits with eight Ks and one walk. The only run he allowed came on a home run in the fourth inning. "Bear" Hill ended the game for the Threshers and picked up the loss with one run on one hit with one walk and one strikeout.

Jason Donald got the Threshers only RBI with a triple in the fifth that drove in former Cub Nic Jackson in the fifth.

With the loss the team falls to four games out of first and into third place as the Reds won to stay in first and the Yankees won to pass the Threshers and jump into second place.
