After taking two of the first three games in this four game set, the Threshers came out on Saturday looking to get another win and secure the series win. Unfortunately the Manatees wanted to avoid a series loss at home and battled the Threshers getting an early 3-0 lead picking up runs in each of the first three innings.
The Threshers would cut the lead to one run as they picked up two runs in the fourth inning, but in their half of the inning the Manatees tacked on another run to make it 4-2 after four.
That score would hold until the sixth inning when the newest Thresher, Jay Mill was hit by a pitch and then scored when Brad Harman followed up with a 2-RBI Home run to tie things at 4-4 after five-and-a-half innings of play. Unfortunately the Manatees grabbed two runs of their own in the bottom of the fifth, and it was back to a two-run deficit for the Threshers heading into the seventh.
In the seventh the Threshers got a lead of walk from Brian Burgamy followed by a single from Greg Golson. After K from Jason Donald, Clay Harris loaded the bases by becoming the third Threshers batter hit by a pitch in the game. Lou Marson drove in a run with a sac fly to cut the lead to 6-5 in favor of the Manatees, but that was all the team could muster in the inning.
The score would remain 6-5 going into the final inning with the Threshers having one last shot to win this game in regualtion, or at least send it to overtime.
Player in yellow denotes the SCHMIDT List player(s) of the game.
