After outscoring the Hammerheads 24-7 in the first two games of this series the Threshers offense found themselves stifled in this game. The Team got out to a promising start going up 3-0 in the second inning, but those would be the last runs the team would score.
Starter Luis Villareal pitched four great innings giving up no runs, but surrendered three in the fourth to tie the game, and gave up one more in the fifth to give the Hammerheads their first lead of the game.
In the sixth inning Jason Wylie came on in relief bringing a respectable 3.18 ERA into the game, but would soon see that ERA grow. Wylie struggled in the inning managing just two outs before being lifted. Wylie gave up two hits and four walks, walking in three runs to extend the Jupiter lead to 7-3.
Nate Johnson came in from the bullpen and shut down the Hammerheds from that point, but the Threshers offense could never get things going and the team would fall to a final score of 7-3.
NOTE: Tomorrow is the 21st birthday for the Threshers catcher Lou Marson, so let's all get out to the park and help welcome Lou into "the Real World" of adulthood by cheering him and the rest of the team onto victory in their final game against these Jupiter Hammerheads.
Player in yellow denotes the SCHMIDT List player(s) of the game.
