The Threshers split a double header on Wednesday night with the Dunedin Bluejays. In game one starter Andrew Carpenter lasted only 2.2 innings giving up seven runs on ten hits as the team fell 9-3 in the game.
In the second game newcomer Sergio Escalona got the start going four innings giving up one run on eight hits with four Ks and two walks. Ron hill pitched the final three frames holding Dunedin hitless and walking none with one strikout. The Threshers picked up two runs on a sixth inning double by Orlando Guevara to win the game 2-1.
The team has one more game against Dunedin before the all-star break, before closing out the first half at Sarasota with three games next week. Trailing by three games with just four remaining the Threshers must win all four of their remaining games to have a hope for a first-half playoff spot.
