The Threshers six-game winning streak ended on Wednesday at the hands of the Sarasota Reds falling 8-2 in the loss.
The Threshers managed to get the lead off man on base each of the first four innings, but not until the fourth could they finally get a runner home. The team loaded the bases with no outs in that inning, but could only bring across one run and remained behind at that point 3-1.
In the fifth inning the Reds put the dagger into the heart of the Threshers picking up four runs including a three-run home run that extended the Reds lead to 7-1. The Threshers got one run back in the sixth inning, but Sarasota grabbed another un of their own in the bottom of the six to go up 8-2, and that was where things would end as the Threshers went hitless over the final three frames.
The Threshers will have two more games at Sarasota before returning home on Saturday night.
Player in yellow denotes the SCHMIDT List player(s) of the game.
