In another nerve racking game the Clearwater Threshers battled out a close one with the Fort Myers Miracle. Tonight however it was the Miracle who got the first lead and forced the Threshers to fight from behind. The Miracle picked up a run in the first inning and carried the 1-0 lead all the way into the seventh inning.
Finally in the seventh the Threshers were able to tie the game at one each when Lou Marson (who scored last night's only run) singled to lead off the inning, then moved to second on a Welinson Baez single. Two batters later with two outs Greg Golson singled to score Marson and tie the game.
The score would remain knotted at 1-1 until extra innings. In the tenth the Threshers were finally able to take care of business and take the lead. Greg Golson and Mike Spidale each got singles to start the inning, then after outs from Jeremy Slayden and John Urick, Lou Marson and Welinson Baez each singled good for an RBI each and the Threshers went on to the bottom of the tenth leading 3-1.
Brett Harker came out of the bullpen to close the game for the Threshers in the tenth. Harker who entered the game with a team high four saves having given up just four runs in twelve games, including his last nine games with no runs and only one hit is his last five games. Tonight however he immediately ran into trouble. Harker walked the first batter, gave up a single to the second, walked the third to load the bases, then gave up back-to-back singles that scored three runs giving the Miracle a miraculous come-back 4-3 win.
