In the seventh inning Lou Marson lead off with a single, but Welinson Baez followed by hitting into a double play and Brad Harman grounded out to end the Threshers half of the inning. In their half of the seventh the Miracle were shut down in order by Charlie Weatherby and it was onto the eighth inning with the Threshers still hanging on to a 1-0 lead.
The eighth inning saw the Threshers Matt Thayer, Greg Golson and Mike Spidale go down in order, so it was into the bottom of the eighth for the Miracle. Once again Charlie Weatherby sat them down in order with two strike outs so into the final frame the Threshers held onto their slim 1-0 margin.
Looking to add his team's margin Jeremy Slayden lead off the ninth with a single. Slayden moved to second on a wild pitch with Clay Harris batting, but Harris hit a ball to third for the first out leaving Slayden at second base. Marson was intentionally walked putting runners at first and second with an 0-3 Welinson Baez coming to bat. Baez took the count to 3-2 and with runners going on the pitch he fouled off two pitches before finally striking out to end the inning.
Into the bottom of the ninth the Threshers still clung to a their narrow 1-0 lead with the bottom of the Miracle lineup coming to bat and Charles Weatherby staying on the hill for his longest outing of the season. Weatherby sent the Miracle down in order with two Ks in the ninth picking up a save and giving the Threshers a win to move one game closer to the Sarasota Reds who lost on Monday.
Lou Marson (2-3, Double, Run, Walk) picked up player-of-the-game honors getting the only extra-base hit for either team on the night, with Matt Thayer (2-4, RBI) and Charles Weatherby (4.0, 0R / 1H / 5K / 0BB) each getting strong honorable mentions.
