For the second night in a row the Threshers downed the Ft. Myers MIracle at Hammond Stadium in Fort Myers.

It was a strong offensive performance for the team, who got on board right away in the first inning. After Victor Hall was called out on strikes, Gregory Golson singled on a line drive to left field. With Jeremy Slayden batting, Gregory Golson stole second base, Jeremy Slayden singled on a line drive to center field moving Golson to third. Welinson Baez then singled on a line drive to right field to score Gregory Golson and move Jeremy Slayden to second before the inning would end.

The MIracle would answer with a run of their own in the second inning, but in the third, the Threshers offense got hot again to retake the lead. Gregory Golson doubled on a line drive to right field to start the inning, then moved to third on a Jeremy Slayden single. After an out from Welinson Baez, John Urick doubled on a fly to center field scoring both Golson and Slayden Urick moved to third on a sac fly from Lou Marson before scoring on a single from Clay Harris to give the Threshers a 4-1 lead after two-and-a-half innings of work.

Once again the Miracle battled back tying the game at four each in the fourth inning after Threshers starter Carlos Carrasco ran into a bit of trouble. Carrasco hit the first Miracle hitter in the inning, then gave up a single, and a three run home run to tie the game before finally getting out of the inning.

Not ready to concede anything the Threshers offense went right back to work in the fifth inning grabbing two more runs to retake the lead. Welinson Baez lead off the inning with a walk, then scored on an RBI double from Lou Marson. Later Clay Harris singled good for an RBI as Lou Marson scored from second, and the lead was back with the Threshers at 6-4.

The Miracle attempted a rally in the ninth inning getting runners on the corners with the winning run at the plate, but fell short as the Threshers hung on for victory. The win coupled with a Sarasote loss moved the team to within two games of the division leading Reds, as the team will face this same Miracle squad on Wednesday looking to sweep the series.
