In the final game of their three-game set with the division leading Reds, the Threshers came out needing a win, but they faced the Reds ace Carlos Fisher who came into the game having surrendered only one run in 19.0 inning of work. Threshers starter Pat Overholt cam into the game with a mission in mind and outbattled Carlos Fisher all the way.
The game went scoreless into the seventh inning when the Threshers offense finally got a spark with two outs in the inning. Brad Harman reached on a single, then scored on a double by John Urick for the only run of the game.
All-in-all it was a solid team effort as the defense pitched in with four double plays, but pitcher Pat Overholt was the star of the day going eight solid innings scattering six hits with three strikouts and one walk.
The team has the day off on Sunday before heading south to Fort Myers to face the Miracle for the first time this year.
Player highlited in yellow denotes the SCHMIDT List player(s) of the game.
