Thirteen hours after winning the longest game in Threshers history the Threshers and Yankees suited up again at 1:30 on Wednesday to battle it out once more. Once again it was the Threshers who would taste victory as the team won 5-1.
Carlos Carrasco went seven innings giving up just one run on a solo homer in the fifth on six hits with four strikeouts and one walk while Zac Stott pitched the final two frames giving up one hit with three Ks and 3 walks.
For the offense both Greg Golson and Brad Harman got two RBIs each with Golson having a home run. Ryan Budde added a double and a run scored, Mike Spidale earned a triple, with Jeremy Slayden grabbing a single, a stolen base and a run, while Welinson Baez added a single, and Kevin Howard hit safely twice and scored twice in the game.
The Threshers return home on "Thirsty Thursday" to begin a three game set with the division leading Sarasota Reds at 7:00 pm. The team will look to down the leaders and claim their rightful place at the top of the division.
