Just when the Clearwater Threshers looked as though they may finally break their five game losing streak by battling back to take a tenth inning lead, the Tigers clamped down to tie the game in the bottom of the tenth inning, then went on to win in the 14th inning.
All around it was not the prettiest of games with the teams combining for seven errors (Clearwater 4; Lakeland 3), but the Threshers did show some staying power to tie the game in the ninth and force extra innings. In the tenth it looked as though they could pull out victory when they scored to take a 5-3 lead, but Lakeland had winning in mind.
The Tigers got two runs of their own in the tenth to tie the game at 5-5, and then in the 14th inning Threshers reliever Jake Barrack had a meltdown walking in the game winning run to hand the Tigers a 6-5 win.
