Ok, first thing let me appologize to all of the "true" Clearwater Threshers fans for missing my first game of the year, but I had a good reason. I saw the world's best band Southern Culture on the Skids tonight at Skipper's Smokehouse in Tampa. (You are hearing them if you have sound enabled on your computer.)

It seems though that I may have missed the best game so far this year, and I certainly regret that. The boys made a big comeback for the second night in a row. I wish I could have seen it, but here is the recap for the rest of the world who didn't see it along with me.

THreshers' Ace and Phillies' top Prospect Cole Hamels took the hill on Saturday night looking for a victory. In the second inning however he would surrender a run via a double, sacrifice and wild pitch to put the Yankees up 1-0 early in the game.

In the fourth inning Mike Costanzo cancelled out the Yankee lead by homering for his third time this year and the game was knotted up at 1-1.

In the fifth inning the Yankees pitcher had a mini meltdown offering up a pair of singles and a pir of walks to score the go ahead run for the Threshers., but that lead would prove short lived.

In the bottom of the Cole Hamels issued three consecutive walks to load the bases and an error by second baseman Peeter Ramos allowed two runs to score. Another single gave the Yankees a 4-2 lead before the Thtreshers finally escaped the inning. The Yankees tacked on another run in the sixthe to extend the lead and it appeared the Threshers may be doomed.

Not to be out done, the Threshers capitalized on Yankees miscues with a pair of walks and a pair of doubles in the seventh inning to score two runs and tie the game at 5-5 after sefven innings.

In the eighth inning the Threshers dug deep and got a run across to take a lead, and it would hold up as they won 6-5 on the night.
