After two consecutive losses to the Clearwater Threshers the Ft. Myers Miracle came out on Saturday looking for revenge. The Threshers offense struck early though getting a run in the first inning to take an early lead.
That lead would prove to be short lived however as the Miracle broke out for four runs in the second inning off of Threshers starter Julio De La Cruz. De La Cruz surrendered another run in the third inning, and three more in the fourth before being pulled with bases loaded and no outs in the inning.
Nate Johnson came in from the bullpen for the Threshers and got out of the inning, but the Miracle were now up 8-1 and would never look back.
The Threshers did manage to mount a four-run rally in the eighth inning thanks in part to a Ft. Myers pitching melt down, and a sudden offensive surge that included a three-run double by Avelino Asprilla. The rally proved to be too little too late as Ft. Myers held on to victory and wone the game 8-5.
