One night after beating the league leading Ft. Myers Miracle 4-3 in 20 innings the Clearwater Threshers once again defeated the Miracle 4-3, but this time minus eleven innings.
The Threshers were first to strike when first baseman Zach Norman doubled to lead off the third and then scored off of a sac from Matt Thayer and a fielders choice from Peeter Ramos.
Ft. Myers got right back into the game with a run of their own in the bottom of the inning, and it was not until the sixth inning when the Threshers would strike again.
The MIracle got two quick outs in the sixth inning, then walked Brad Harman. Brain Sellier then homered for the second time in two nights to give the Threshers a 3-1 lead.
In the seventh inning Zach Norman homered for his second hit of the night and the Threshers' lead was extended to 4-1.
In the ninth inning Threshers pitcher Adam Shafer came in from the bullpen looking for his league leading fifth save of the year. Shafer ran into a bit of trouble as the Miracle rallied for two runs after a walk, a single and a double. He held on however and got the save as the Threshers ended the game 4-3 and with the win tied the Miracle at 6-3 on the year for a share of first place.
