Jake Blalock gets a Home Run

HT: 6-4 WT: 215 BORN: 8/6/83 RESIDES: San Diego, CA
OBTAINED: Signed as a Minor league Free agent in 2007 ... Originally signed by the Phillies as a 5th round pick in the June 2002 draft.

OTHER: Jake had a very successful season with the Clearwater Threshers in 2005 being voted by the fans as the team MVP. He lead the team in hits, RBIs, Walks, OBP, at-bats, and games played that season, but was traded to the Texas Rangers (where his brother Hank plays MLB baseball) before the start of the 2006 season. In 2006 he hit .266 for AA Frsico of the Texas League. In 2007 he began the season in the Rangers farm system, but was traded to the KC Royals where he played at AA Wichita in the Texas league. He was realeased by the Royals on July 15th before being signed by the Phillies as a free agent.

After returning to the Threshers in 2007 Jake helped the team push towards the playoffs and their 2007 FSL Championship. He earned post-season honors leading the team and the entire FSl in RBIs for the post season.
